W.T.E. Bayley is the pseudonym of Heather M. Taylor (nee McDonald). Heather Taylor grew up outside the town of Urana, New South Wales, and in 1920 began to attend a local bush school with two teachers.

In 1975, with small country schools becoming a thing of the past, Taylor wrote to district newspapers all over Australia, asking for memories...
