Notes: Titled as above in ink at lower left. Identical, apart from the absence of a figure at the right of the image, to an Augustus Earle lithograph now in the collections of the National Gallery of Australia. The National Gallery lithograph is titled 'Drinking "Bull" / Natives of N.S. Wales, as they appear in the Streets of Sydney.' Printed at lower left is 'Earle's Litho' and at lower right 'Pub at Sydney N.S.[ ]'. Earle is known to have operated his lithographic business in Sydney in 1826. These images appear to be the basis of a lithograph by Augustus Earle, 'Natives of N.S. Wales. As seen in the Streets of Sydney', which was published in his 'Views in New South Wales', in London in 1830. Earle left N.S.W. in 1828. Transferred from SSV* file, December 2008
