James Ray Lewis, farmer of Bogan Gate, Parkes, New South Wales, was 19 years old when he enlisted, 16 Aug. 1917. He embarked from Sydney, New South Wales, on board HMAT A14 Euripides, 31 Oct. 1917 and served with the 17th Battalion in France. He was wounded in the attack on Mt. St. Quentin 31 Aug. 1918.
