Decoration is French: brown and red entries in the Calendar; red rubrics; small capitals gold with black penwork; blue with red penwork; other capitals and fill-ins are gold, red, blue with white tracery. Six large illuminated initials with full borders of acanthus-leaf sprays and flowers.
Foliated in pencil, 19th/20th century.
Probably written at Paris. Script is second half 15th cent., French littera gothica textualis formata.
Imperfect. Several sheets missing (see Sinclair). Leaf 32 is misbound and should be read after 39. Outer borders of leaves 10 and 25 have been cut away.
Provenance: Gift of Sir William Dixson. With his bookplate in front pastedown (crest, motto, monogram).
Binding: Bound in brown morocco. Gilt centrepiece (lozenge) on upper and lower boards. Gilt edges.
