Contents: , 1 sheet (2 maps on 1 sheet), 4 maps : b&w ; 1 sheet (2 maps on 1 sheet) 33 x 23 cm., 42.5 x 37.5 cm., on sheet 47.7 x 76.2 cm. ; 4 maps (part map) 33 x 23 cm., (a.) Unfinished state. Half only, the map titled: Plan of the affair at Almeida, 24th July, 1810. This is one half only of the map as finally published -- (b.) Half only, with pencilled corrections. -- (c.) Same. On thin brownish paper, with extensive, sometimes biting, corrections in corrections in red ink in Frenchn in Mitchell's hand. In particular, the name of the printers is struck through to be replaced by: From the original drawing by Colonel Bell, and with the comment, ces lettres seront ecrit par M. Culliford, which may be read with the comment on Hellrigel's lettering, Enfin l'ecriture est exècrable par tout. -- (d.) Further unfinished state, with the printers' name erased from the stone, and some of the corrections made, e.g. shading on the fortifications of Almeida. Battle positions in experimental colours. -- (e.) Completed state, with both maps, with some colours.
