Contents: , 4 sheets (2 maps on 1 sheet each) : b&w ; on sheet, ca. 85.5 x 60.5 cm. each., (a.) Unfinished state. Litho. B&w. Several columns of references. The individual maps: 36 x 57.5 cm., 42 x 57.5 cm. The Vigia de Barrosa map has been copied from Gt. Brit. & I. Quartermaster General's Dept., Sketch of the action near the Vigia de la Baross. This was based on Harriot's sketch. The present map was to have been included in Mitchell's Maps & plans, as 20, but something went wrong and the map was completely redrawn for that publication. -- (b.) Another copy. Margins out close on three sides. -- (c.) Another copy. Very poor impression on thin paper. -- (d.) Completed state, with battle positions experimentally coloured. Redrawn to the same scale. The inscriptions are unchanged, but differ in size and location from the other version. The relief shading, and the backgrounds are now much lighter. The imprint is outside, instead of inside the border, and the map number is given. The attribution to Harriot is at the right instead of the left.
