CONTEXTUAL INFORMATION

Administrative / Biographical history

Businessman Thomas Sutcliffe Mort (1816-1878) acquired the Bodalla Estate (previously known as Boat Alley) in 1860. Edward (Ted) Montague Mort was one of his sons.
