Notes: The Mitchell Librarian wrote to Halewood & Son, Preston, Lancs. on 27 Feb 1947 asking them to supply items from their catalogue no. 132, 1946-7, to the Agent General for NSW in London for transmission to the Mitchell Library. An item on p.11 was: Williams, J. - Missionary enterprises in the S.Sea Islands. 1839 (price 18 shillings). Two of the painted leaves at PXA 1099 were accessioned as "part of a scrapbook purchased from Halewood 24 Mar 1947". The leaves are therefore possibly from John Williams' collection, made when he was a missionary in the South Pacific.
