    The half plate photographs taken in hospitals are by Dr. Rowling. Others are by Henry King (Sudan troops), some by "J.P. [i.e. John Paine] (views round Sydney), some may be by N.S.W. Government Printers and the majority of the smaller cdv images are by American and Australasian Photo Co. (compared with SPF/Mudgee, NSW [BM]).

    The volumes were compiled by Rowling probably at the same time as the dates on the photos (between 1869-1886)
