Shirley Shennen was born Shirley Wilson in Moree, NSW in 1923. She was educated at Moree Intermediate High School. During World War II she served in the WAAAF (Women's Auxiliary Australian Air Force). She married Graham Barnes in 1949. The marriage ended in divorce in 1972 and she later married Frank Shennen....
