Administrative / Biographical history

The Women’s Liberation Movement in Sydney started in 1969 with meetings of women who had been active in the anti-war movement and other radical causes. The Women's Liberation Group held its inaugural meeting on 14 January 1970.

Frank Moorhouse is an award-winning Australian writer whose work includes short stories, novels, essays and screenplays. In the 1960s and 1970s he was identified as 'Balmain writer', one of a group of politically radical writers whose influences included the 'Sydney Libertarianism' of John Anderson.
