Frederick Earle Winchcombe, Duncan Carson, C. L. Wallis and E. J. Turton formed Winchcombe, Carson & Co, woolbrokers, stock and station agents in 1889. In september 1899 the firm was incorporated with a nominal capital of £150,000. Winchcombe, Carson & Co. Ltd became Winchcombe, Carson Ltd in 1910.
