Administrative / Biographical history
Painter, draughtsman, art teacher and surveyor was born in Ireland and studied at the Dublin Royal Academy. In 1849 he migrated to Auckland, New Zealand where he taught drawing, published lithographs and worked as a surveyor. In 1858 he left New Zealand for Sydney and worked in the New South Wales Surveyor General's Dept. -- Dictionary of Australia...
