Administrative / Biographical history

Members of the Corlis family emigrated from Ireland during the potato famine and settled in the Capertee Valley, north of Lithgow, in 1841. William Corlis acquired the 'Bandanora' property, near Capertree, in 1851, establishing a large sheep grazing property, which was later taken over by his son, William Charles.
