Maul and trowel in good condition, but presentation box is badly damaged.

Administrative / Biographical history

Thomas Henry Hicks (18?-1951) blacksmith turned engineer, was an alderman, 1908-10, 1914-1926 and mayor, 1910, 1914-1915 & 1920 of Mascot Council. He was the prime mover in the erection of the Mascot Soldiers War Memorial, and was on the boards of South Sydney Hospital and Gardiners Road District School.
