Administrative / Biographical history

Robert Scales was a trader in the South Pacific area. He originally traded out of Sydney, with partner Thomas Farrell, in coconuts, breadfruit, bananas and tortoise shell clubs. He then set up home and business on one of the Duke of York Islands, now called Mioko.
