James Marr Brydon, born 1779, grew up in Scotland and studied medicine at Edinburgh University. He first sailed as ship's surgeon to Madras and Calcutta for the East India Company. He was surgeon superintendent on the convict ship Eliza which he boarded on 9 September 1819 and reached Sydney on 21 January 1820. He sailed for England on 9 Septemb...
