Diary contains daily entries, written in pencil and ink, concerning the activities, appointments, social occasions, recreational pursuits, and travels of Geoffrey Forrest Hughes. Hughes writes about time in London during January to May, and his voyage to the United States to spend time travelling with his parents through New York, Washington DC, Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. He also writes of his return voyage home to Sydney via Honolulu, returning to studies at Sydney University, ukulele lessons, golfing, and a visit to Muswellbrook in August.
